Final: Anderson 2, Southern Wesleyan 0

Records: Southern Wesleyan (0-1) Anderson (1-1)

Coach Quarandillo says…

"For our first game, and only playing with one sub, I am super proud of my players tonight.  They played with heart until the very end.  We had plenty of chances, but they didn't fall our way.  It was a very good start to our season.  We should be running on all cylinders by the time our conference campaign begins."

How It Happened

Southern Wesleyan went on the attack right off the bat as Noah Sims and Grant Kiker each took shots, but neither were on goal.  Anderson countered with attacks of their own, but Brandon Smith kept the ball from the goal and a defensive save by Alex Miner allowed the Warriors to keep the Trojans down.  However, the Trojans attacks finally paid off as Colin Burris passed the ball to Cox-Ashwood who put it in and allowed Anderson to take a 1-0 lead.

Anderson continued to pressure in the second half of the game as Lucas Mostajo scored the second goal of the game.  The Trojans continued to pepper the goal, but Brandon Smith kept the ball out of the net to prevent Anderson from extending thier lead any further.  Grant Kiker, Noah Sims and the Warriors offensive continued to push the ball toward the goal, but their efforts were thwarted.  Anderson went on to win the game 2-0.
