Coach Quarandillo says…

"We couldn't do much more than that with all of our injuries and sicknesses right now.  Glad to see Cale McLarnon involved in another goal – assisting Caleb with his first collegiate goal.  Also, want to just give a shout out to Evan Bier who was honored today as a senior that has served the men's program with excellence for the past four years."

How It Happened

Barton struck first just ten minutes into the first half as Throstur Jonasson got the ball around the defense to put the Bulldogs ahead 1-0.  However, the Warriors would not be discouraged as Miguel Gallegos took a shot on the goal, but it was collected by Francisco Noguera to keep the Warriors from tying it up at one apiece.  Southern Wesleyan continued to pressure as Cale McLarnon passed the ball in from the corner to Caleb Compton who put it into the net and allow the Warriors to tie the game.  The tie was short lived as Jonas Svavarsson passed to Ruben Mancio to give them a 2-1 lead at the half.

The Bulldogs continued to pressure the Warriors defense as Mattias Lindskoug and Jonasson took shots on the goal, but Will Hughes collected each attack to keep Barton from extending their lead.  Caleb Compton and Ben Baker took shots as the Warriors fought to tie the game, but Francisco Noguera and the Bulldog defense thwarted all of Southern Wesleyan's attempts.  A goal by Ruben Mancio and then a penalty kick goal by Rocha Ludovic allowed the Bulldogs to extend their lead to 4-1.  The Bulldogs went on to put two more goals in to win the game 6-1.
